Off-Road Meets All-Electric: Introducing the 2026 Chevrolet Silverado EV Trail Boss

Chevrolet is taking its electric truck lineup to new heights—literally—with the debut of the 2026 Silverado EV Trail Boss. This highly anticipated off-road trim brings the rugged capability Trail Boss fans have come to expect, now integrated with the advanced technology and impressive range of the Silverado EV platform.

Off-Road Performance, Electrified

The Trail Boss name has a legacy of capability, and the Silverado EV version builds on that with exclusive features designed for rugged terrain. A 2-inch lift provides a 24% increase in ground clearance over the base model, and the uniquely tuned coil suspension includes a hydraulic rebound control system for improved handling.

Off-road enthusiasts will appreciate the trim-exclusive Terrain mode that enhances torque control and traction at low speeds. Features like 4-Wheel Steer and Sidewinder mode (which allows diagonal movement at low speeds) make the Trail Boss exceptionally agile, whether navigating rocky trails or urban landscapes.

Power and Capability

The Trail Boss offers robust performance to match its aggressive stance. With the available Max Range battery pack, drivers get up to 725 horsepower and 775 lb-ft of torque. Towing capacity reaches an impressive 12,500 pounds, and the payload tops out at 2,100 pounds, making it ready for both work and play.

Design that Demands Attention

Visually, the Silverado EV Trail Boss is built to turn heads with exclusive design touches:

  • High-angle approach front fascia
  • 35-inch all-terrain tires with unique 18-inch wheels
  • Red front tow hooks and Trail Boss-specific badging
  • Auxiliary switches ready for accessories like off-road lights

The Trail Boss is available in nine exterior colors, including three new additions: White Sands, Polar White Tricoat, and Magnus Gray Matte Metallic.

Advanced Driver Assistance

Chevrolet continues to lead in driver assistance innovation with updates to Super Cruise, the industry’s first true hands-free driver assistance technology. The updated system now integrates with Google Maps and offers enhanced lane-centering with adaptive cruise functionality—even while towing.

EV Range and Lineup

The Silverado EV Trail Boss is available with two battery configurations:

  • Extended Range: 410 miles (EPA-estimated)
  • Max Range: 478 miles (GM-estimated)

Charging is quick and convenient, with DC fast charging up to 350kW—adding up to 100 miles of range in just 10 minutes. Level 2 charging supports up to 19.2kW, offering 37 miles of range per hour.
