If you’ve been putting off new tires, this is a good week to stop doing that. Wheelers Family Auto Group is running the Chevrolet Certified Service Spring Tire Event, and the offer is pretty straightforward: buy 3 tires with installation on select tires and get the 4th for $1. That’s not a typo. One dollar.
We’ve got factory-trained Chevy technicians across our Central Wisconsin locations, and they know Chevy fitment requirements better than any generic tire shop. You get the tire your vehicle was spec’d for, installed right, backed by a price match guarantee. Here’s what you need to know.
The tire deal, broken down
Buy 3 select tires with installation and the 4th costs $1. The deal runs through the Chevy Certified Service Spring Tire Event. Offer applies to select tire brands and models. Ask your Wheelers service advisor which tires qualify.
Select tires with installation. Valid through participating Wheelers Chevrolet locations. See service advisor for qualifying tires and complete offer details. *Offer subject to change. See dealer for details.
Four new tires are a real expense. On most passenger cars you’re looking at anywhere from $400 to $800 installed, more on trucks and SUVs. This offer takes a meaningful chunk out of that cost by essentially making the fourth tire free.
The setup is simple. Come in, pick from the qualifying tire selection, and the lowest-priced tire rings up at $1. You still pay for installation on all four, but you’re getting a full set of tires at the price of three.
Not every tire on the lot qualifies. When you call or schedule online, just ask your service advisor which brands and models are included. They’ll match you to the right qualifying tire for your specific vehicle.
Stack the savings with brake and suspension offers
This is where it gets more interesting. Chevy’s current service offers let you combine the tire deal with qualifying brake pads, rotors, shocks, struts, and tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) sensors.
Combine eligible offers and you can receive up to $240 back in rebates or 24,000 GM Rewards points.
That’s a solid incentive to handle deferred maintenance all at once. If you’ve got tires that need replacing and brakes that are getting close, doing them together right now is smarter than spacing them out and leaving the rebate on the table.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, worn tires and degraded brakes are two of the leading equipment-related factors in vehicle crashes. Doing both at the same service appointment isn’t just a savings move. It’s the safer call.
Price match guarantee
Show us a better eligible price at time of purchase and we match it. Find a lower price within 30 days of your purchase and we refund the difference.
One thing that stops people from going to the dealership for tires is the assumption it’ll cost more. The price match guarantee removes that concern.
Show Wheelers a better eligible price on the same tire at the time of purchase and we’ll match it. No hassle. And if you find a lower qualifying price within 30 days after your purchase, we’ll refund you the difference.
That’s a real guarantee, not fine-print theater. It means you can shop with confidence knowing you’re not going to find the same tire cheaper somewhere else and wish you’d gone there instead.
Getting the right tire for your Chevy
Here’s something a lot of drivers don’t realize. Chevrolet doesn’t just approve any tire for your vehicle. Each Chevy model is spec’d with tires that meet GM’s Tire Performance Criteria, called TPC specs. These aren’t generic size matches. They’re tires engineered to work with your vehicle’s suspension tuning, weight distribution, and braking system.
Put a non-TPC tire on a Chevy and it might fit the wheel. But you may notice changes in ride quality, handling, and braking response. The tire your Chevy came with was chosen for a reason.
Our factory-trained technicians match you to the right tire for your vehicle. If you’re not sure what you need, the Tire Information Label on your driver’s door frame lists the OEM-recommended tire size and cold inflation pressure. Or just call us and we’ll look it up.
Tire types explained
If you’re not sure which type of tire fits your driving, here’s a quick rundown of the main categories available through Chevy Certified Service:
All-season
The most common choice for Wisconsin drivers. All-season tires handle rain, light snow, heat, and cold reasonably well. They won’t out-perform a dedicated winter tire in January, but for year-round driving they’re the practical choice for most Chevy owners.
All-terrain
Designed for drivers who go off-road regularly. Good on gravel, dirt, and most weather conditions. The aggressive tread pattern wears faster than all-season tires, so plan to rotate them more often than the standard 7,500-mile interval if you’re seeing uneven wear.
Winter/snow
Wisconsin winters make a real case for dedicated winter tires. These are designed specifically for snow- and ice-covered roads. They run softer compounds that stay flexible in cold temps where all-season rubber gets stiff. The trade-off: they wear faster on dry pavement and aren’t built for year-round use. If you swap to winters, use the same brand and tread type on all four positions.
Performance
Built for enhanced handling and high-speed stability. Low aspect ratio, sticky compound. Not meant for winter driving. If you’re running a Camaro, Corvette, or SS model, this is likely your OEM tire category.
Run-flat
Run-flats let you keep moving after a puncture without stopping to change the tire. Keep speed below 50 mph and don’t push it too far on a flat. If there’s permanent structural damage, the tire may not be usable. Some Chevy models come from the factory on run-flats, which is why your vehicle may not have a spare.
Tire maintenance basics
New tires last longer when you take care of them. A few things worth knowing:
Check pressure monthly
Tire pressure changes about 1 psi for every 10-degree Fahrenheit temperature shift. In Wisconsin, that matters. From September through April, a week of cold nights can drop your pressure enough to affect fuel economy and handling. Check pressure when tires are cold (not driven in at least three hours). The correct PSI is on your door frame label, not the tire sidewall max.
Rotate every 7,500 miles
Front and rear tires wear at different rates depending on your drivetrain, braking habits, and vehicle weight. Rotating them every 7,500 miles evens that out and extends the full set’s life. It’s the cheapest maintenance investment you can make on a set of tires.
Know when to replace
The penny test works. Put a penny upside down in the tread groove. If you can see the top of Lincoln’s head, the tread is gone and replacement is overdue. At that point you’re past the built-in wear indicators too. Don’t wait.
Watch your TPMS light
If your Tire Pressure Monitoring System light comes on solid, check and correct the pressure in all four tires. If it blinks for more than a minute before going solid, the TPMS system itself needs a diagnostic. TPMS sensor batteries typically last up to 10 years. When they fail, the sensor needs replacement. That’s something our service team handles at the same appointment.
