Step-by-Step Guide: How to Change a Tire

Step 1: Find a Safe Location

• Action: If you’re driving, pull over to a safe spot away from traffic. Turn on your hazard lights.
• Tip: Make sure the ground is flat and stable to avoid your car rolling.

Step 2: Gather Your Tools

• What You Need:
  • A jack
  • A lug wrench
  • A spare tire
  • Your vehicle’s manual (optional, but helpful)

Step 3: Loosen the Lug Nuts

• Action: Use the lug wrench to turn the lug nuts counterclockwise. Loosen them slightly but don’t remove them yet.
• Tip: If the lug nuts are too tight, you can stand on the wrench to get more leverage.

Step 4: Lift the Vehicle with the Jack

• Action: Place the jack under the car, following the manufacturer’s recommended lifting points (usually outlined in the manual). Lift the car until the tire is about six inches off the ground.
• Tip: Never put any part of your body under the car while it’s lifted.

Step 5: Remove the Lug Nuts and the Flat Tire

Step 6: Mount the Spare Tire
